TERMS OF USE

Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of Lodgr. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.

Effective Date: August 22, 2026Last Updated: August 22, 2026

Marketplace intermediary

Lodgr connects students with landlords and vendors. We do not own hostels or sell marketplace goods ourselves.

Escrow settlement

Rent is held for about 3 days; marketplace funds release after the buyer confirms delivery in-app.

Verification gates

Rent needs tenant approval. Selling needs Didit identity and Paystack bank verification.

Refunds & disputes

Raise issues in-app promptly. Lodgr’s escrow decision governs platform release of funds.

1The service

Lodgr provides software that helps students find housing and campus services, and helps landlords/vendors get paid through the platform.

Lodgr is a marketplace intermediary. We do not own or manage listed hostels and do not sell marketplace goods ourselves. The underlying contract for accommodation or goods is between the student and the landlord/vendor.

2Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your login safe. We may suspend accounts for fraud, abuse, chargebacks, false identity, or breach of these Terms.

Landlords are onboarded through Lodgr’s authorised campus process. Students and vendors may self-register, subject to verification gates.

Student

Self-register; browse listings and pay through Lodgr checkout.

Landlord

Onboarded via Lodgr’s authorised campus / ambassador process.

Vendor

Self-register; complete Didit + bank verification before selling.

3Verification

  • Rent: you must complete tenant verification and be approved before paying rent on Lodgr.
  • Selling: you must complete Didit identity checks and bank verification before operating a shop.
  • Payouts: withdrawals and landlord payouts go only to verified Nigerian bank accounts in the eligible account holder’s name.

4Housing payments

Checkout amounts are shown before payment and may include Lodgr’s commission. Payment is made to Lodgr through Paystack.

After successful payment

Lodgr confirms the booking under its inventory rules, and funds remain in Lodgr’s control for about 3 days (escrow period), then Lodgr pays the landlord by Paystack Transfer, unless a dispute or compliance hold applies.

Holds, refunds & off-platform pay

A temporary room hold during checkout is not a confirmed tenancy. If payment succeeds but the seat cannot be allocated, Lodgr may issue in-app rent credit or process a refund under its refund rules. Paying for a Lodgr listing outside official checkout to evade platform rules is prohibited and may lead to suspension.

5Marketplace payments

Vendors may sell eligible campus goods/services. Lodgr’s platform fee is ₦100 per order (shown in order records). Paystack’s processing fees may also apply at checkout.

After payment through Paystack, Lodgr holds the order value until the buyer confirms delivery in-app. Lodgr then credits the vendor’s shop wallet. The vendor may withdraw to a verified bank account via Paystack Transfer.

Lodgr does not guarantee the quality or legality of third-party goods/services, but may remove listings and suspend vendors that break these Terms.

6Pay for me

A student may share a Lodgr payment link so another person can pay. The booking and account obligations remain with the student.

7Refunds and disputes

Raise payment or delivery issues in-app promptly.

Lodgr may review receipts, chat, verification data, and timelines. Lodgr may refund, release funds, issue credit, or reject a claim. Lodgr’s escrow decision governs platform release of funds. It does not remove any separate legal claim you may have against a landlord or vendor.

8Acceptable use

You must not: harass users; post illegal content; scrape the platform; evade KYC or escrow; or use Lodgr for money laundering, fraud, or prohibited businesses.

9Messaging and support

Chat and support tools are for legitimate booking and order communication. Campus support is a best-effort operations channel, not legal advice and not a guaranteed outcome.

10Intellectual property

Lodgr’s app, branding, and software are owned by Lodgr. You may not copy or scrape them without permission.

11Disclaimers

The platform is provided "as is." Lodgr is not responsible for landlord housing conditions, vendor product quality, bank delays, or events outside reasonable control.

12Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, Lodgr is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Lodgr’s total liability for a claim relating to a transaction is limited to the fees Lodgr earned on that transaction (or, if none, ₦10,000), except where liability cannot be limited by law.

13Termination

You may request account deletion in-app when no blocking obligations remain. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, risk, or legal reasons.

14Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
